The summer of sea, sun and personal changes

Summer in New York is well dreadful and horribly sticky and smelly and  hot hot hot! (I was trying very hard not to say this about my adopted city but unfortunately its the truth) I did however enjoy moments of late summer evenings when the intense heat would cool down and the sound of my fan would buzz in the evening air. Central park in the evening with people strolling with their friends after a night of theater at the Public, people running in droves to hang out in the grass to catch a ray of sun during their lunch hr at work, and the weekend escapes to the near by beaches.... beautiful music in the air at Prospect Park Bandshell..... just how the city comes to life after a dreary winter season.... and it was exciting !

my New York summer was about  Long walks with friends near Astoria park in Queens.... beating the heat with an iced tea at a near by restaurant 

quiet moments at the roof top of friends taking care of one of my favorite doggies 
and breath taking view of a skyline over New York with funky music in the air!

and lovely walks in the parks with kids playing in the water fountains to beat the heat! 

so yes overall New York City in the summer is not that bad .... cheers and happy fall everyone.

Crossing the threshold into the New Year, I wanted to share more stories of some young, talented, and recently transplanted Greeks living, creating and thriving in New York. We all have a reason for being here, and we all have come from different backgrounds and situations. Some left because they had no choice,  some left to study and never went back, some left because their lives had come to a standstill in Greece, because of the financial crisis and they desperately needed a new vision.  We are here,  we've moved from our homes,  our comfort zone our familiar and our settled lives, and made new homes from the beginning.
